I have a specific philosophy and way of doing things that will strongly facilitate the settlement of your case. The Anderton Way is:
A commitment to winning. Winning as a mediator means connecting with the parties, building relationships, persuading and ultimately settling your cases.
Preparation. I am a believer in the saying that failing to prepare is preparing to fail. No mediator will be better prepared to mediate your case than I will. Preparation is a large part of "the battle."
Impact. Having a positive impact on those I interact with. In mediation, that means even though the circumstances can be difficult and stressful, my demeanor and treatment of the parties and counsel will leave them walking away feeling that the process was a positive one.
Listening. Making certain that people feel that they've been heard. I will listen, not to respond, but to understand the people and positions involved and to use that information in the other room to drive a settlement. It will be the parties' "day in court."
Fairness and Objectivity. I will treat the parties fairly, objectively, and without emotion or bias. I have spent three decades assessing litigation values, including in many 8 figure wage-hour class actions as well as hundreds of single-plaintiff employment cases. I have no dog in the fight other than to utilize my vast experience and mediation training to drive a settlement that all parties can live with.
Relentlessness. No situation, process, or game is over until it's over. I will never give up hope or work on your case. I will take ownership and it will be my mission to get your case settled, whether it is the day of mediation or the day of trial.
